Featured Video of the Week: Sorting Out Syncope & Basic Physiology

This week Dr. Satish Raj discusses his background as a heart-rhythm specialist, his experience at Vanderbilt and syncopes. Dr. Raj describes that reflex syncopes have different names and these syncopes stem from a range of different causes. When someone is experiencing one of these syncopes, there is a nervous system reflex that is sensing something is wrong with the heart causing a signal to be sent resulting in a decrease of heart rate or blood pressure. Dr. Raj then gives suggestions for self-correcting mechanisms for patients to use.
