On February 23, 2018, we had the opportunity to attend the WEDU Be More Awards ceremony to honor TDP board member Lisa Rooker, who was a finalist for the “Be More Involved/Mason Dixon Award for Volunteerism.” This award is bestowed upon the individual, family or group that has lent a unique voice to bring awareness, credence, support, or action to an issue or cause. TDP nominated Lisa for this prestigious award, and thanks to the votes of many community members, she was recognized as one of 6 finalists from many, many nonprofits throughout the entire Bay Area. While the award went to another nominee, the fact that Lisa was named a finalist out of approximately 25 original contestants is testimony to her amazing dedication to TDP and the patients who suffer.
Hillsborough County School Nurses
In early August 2017, we had the amazing opportunity to present on POTS to over 300 Hillsborough County School nurses!
The 6:15 Party
Join us at The 6:15 Party on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at Carlouel Yacht Club, and enjoy casual dining, dancing, live auction, and music provided by Public Option!
Our party’s name serves as a reminder of our mission to change the 6 year average time to diagnose Dysautonomia, to just 15 minutes.
We have so much to celebrate! Come Kick off your shoes and dance for those who can’t on November 9th, 2017! We hope you will consider participating as a 6:15 Party guest and/or sponsor! Let’s continue our mission to turn 6 years into 15 minutes!
The Board game "CLUE" came to life on October 3, 2015 as Colonel Mustard, played by Board Member Kirk Blank, took the stage at duPont Publishing Headquarters and welcomed several hundred guests. The event's success was no mystery!
Dr. Jamie Decker and Dr. Dennis Hart presented on POTS! We were able to provide resources to every physician in attendance (approx. 300) to further our mission of educating physicians about Dysautonomia. Between two doctors, they are seeing 20 patients a week and gathering a tremendous amount of knowledge in how to treat symptoms of Dysautonomia in pediatric cases.
In March 2017, we hosted the POTS Pi Day 5k in Memory of Christina Tournant. Thank you to Tava Wilson for putting together such a successful event, and for bringing so many people together for Dysautonomia/POTS!
